Circuit Court Judge Hale Stancil listens during Bradley Vanderhoff's sentencing hearing at the Marion County Courthouse in Ocala, Fla. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008. Stancil sentenced Vanderhoff to 12 years probation. In April 2005, Vanderhoff shot at several Marion County deputies from inside the shower at his Weirsdale home after his wife placed a 911 call, fearing he would take his own life. He was charged with three counts of attempted murder of a law enforcement officer. Vanderhoff, who has multiple sclerosis, was wearing sunglasses in the courtroom due to an eye condition brought on by the disease. Sentencing guidlines showed that Vanderhoff could have received up to life in prison for the charges. (Star-Banner Photo/NYTRENG, Bruce ACKERMAN).
