WOW summer is almost here and the temperature is beginning to soar - what to do on those hot summer afternoons - go bowling of course.
Not too much happening this week, so this will be short and sweet.
The Florida USBC Women’s Bowling Association held their annual convention on May 16, 2008, in Daytona Beach, Florida. Attendance was down as local associations’ memberships drop so do the number of delegates they are allowed to send to the convention. No surprises were unveiled at the convention as the delegation elected officers and directors for the 2008-2009 season.
Kudos to Debbie Whitten who is the publicity chairperson for the Ocala USBC Women’s Bowling Association for bringing home 2 "writing" awards: one for her local association articles (submitted to the State and her local newsletter) and one in the "overall" writing category.
The Florida USBC Women’s Bowling Association and the Florida USBC Bowling Association have formed committees to meet to begin discussing "merging" at the State Level. As these negotiations progress we will keep you informed.
ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS HAVE BEEN SCHEDULED AS FOLLOWS:
MARION COUNTY USBC BOWLING ASSOCIATION WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, MAY 31, 2008, AT 1:00 P.M. AT AMF EAST. IF THERE IS ANY PROPOSED LEGISLATION IT WILL BE POSTED SHORTLY. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN RUNNING FOR A POSITION ON THE BOARD PLEASE CONTACT JERRY ABRAMS OR LARRY MAYHEW FOR MORE INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS.
Summer league information is available at all the centers. Check out what is available and if you don’t see a format you want - check in to setting up such a league - there are a multitude of options and formats available there should be one for you!!
Since the fall leagues have all or at least the majority of them have wrapped up their season there are no high scores this week. Top 10 will resume in the fall.
That should bring us up to date for now.
