Denny Hamlin gives Toyota its first NASCAR Sprint Cup victory while Dale Jarrett and John Andretti get in the Daytona 500.
Top 5: Hamlin-Stewart-Gordon-Kahne-Martin

Lap 64 -- On the last lap, Hamlin and Gordon race side by side before Hamlin moves to the front. John Andretti gets past Reutimann to get the last transfer position.

Lap 63 -- Hamlin gets past Stewart with help from Gordon.

Lap 62 -- Green-White-Checkered -- Restart: Top 10 Stewart-Hamlin-Gordon-Kahne-Martin-Jarrett-Harvick-Ragan-Waltrip-Reutimann

RED FLAG FOR CLEANUP

Lap 58 -- Carpentier, battling for the final transfer spot, blows a tire and slams into the turn 2 wall. The caution flag waves, setting up a two-lap shootout.

Lap 57 -- Stewart and Hamlin run single-file, but the battle is on for third on back.

Lap 54 -- The Gibbs teammates battle each other and Stewart moves to the lead. Hamlin moves to second as Busch falls out of the top 5.

Lap 50 -- The Gibbs teammates of Busch and Stewart pass Harvick for the lead, bringing six more cars with them.

Lap 45 -- Harvick pulls away with the lead. Mark Martin follows him to second as Dale Jarrett moves to third.

Lap 41 -- Stewart gets up to the top line and sinks in behind Busch, but Harvick continues to ride the low lane. He pulls even to Busch for the lead.

Lap 38 -- Harvick, Stewart and Martin try to build an inside lane to go up and challenge the leaders. Busch still leads.

Lap 32 -- Busch shoots low with some drafting help from Denny Hamlin and takes the lead, bringing his teammate to second.

Lap 30 -- Waltrip leads the field back to the green flag, but Gordon shuffles him out of the draft and takes the lead.

Lap 28 -- NASCAR stops the race to allow time to clean up oil left by Blaney's broken engine.

Lap 24 -- Gordon comes from nowhere to take the lead as Dave Blaney's engine expires, bringing out the caution flag. The caution gives Waltrip the lead with Gordon second, Kenseth third, Busch fourth and Harvick fifth.

Restart, Lap 21 -- Top 10 -- Kenseth-Kahne-Waltrip-Kevin Harvick-Hamlin-Gordon-Carpentier-Busch-Ragan-Mark Martin

Lap 19 -- Pit road opens and the leaders come in. In fact, every car on the track comes to pit road. Kenseth leads the race off pit road.

Lap 18 -- After making two more pit stops, Burton's crew pushes his car to the garage.

Lap 17 -- The caution is out and pit road is still closed because Barrett's car blocks the entrance. All lead lap cars are expected to pit when Barrett's car is cleared.

Lap 15 -- Villeneuve spins in turn 4 and collects Stanton Barrett and Jamie McMurray. McMurray slides across the track and gets T-boned by Dario Franchitti. All four cars suffer terminal damage, but all drivers walk away. Villeneuve and Barrett will not race on Sunday.

Lap 14 -- Kasey Kahne works the outside lane to go to the front and take the lead.

Lap 12 -- Blaney almost turns Waltrip, causing both cars to slow enough to give Kenseth the lead.

Lap 9 -- Jeff Burton pits and loses a lap with a tire problem. Waltrip takes the lead back as Kvapil fades without drafting help.

Lap 8 -- Kvapil goes to the inside of Waltip and takes the lead.

Lap 5 -- Waltrip leads Blaney and Kvapil as cars race side-by-side behind them. Kyle Busch is knifing his way to the front.

Lap 1 -- NASCAR officials black flag Reutimann for jumping the start. He must drive through pit road.

Lap 1 -- David Reutimann breaks to the lead with teammate Michael Waltrip directly behind.

4 p.m. -- The second Gatorade Duel is getting ready to start at Daytona. Here are the top 10 starters:
1. Michael Waltrip
2. David Reutimann
3. Dave Blaney
4. Travis Kvapil
5. Patrick Carpentier
6. Matt Kenseth
7. David Ragan
8. Jaques Villeneuve
9. Mark Martin
10. David Gilliland

Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Denny Hamlin will fall to the rear of the field after changing engines.



Lap 60 -- Earnhardt gets the win as Wallace and Vickers grab the two transfer spots

Restart Lap 59 Top 5: Earnhardt-Sorenson-Newman-Mears-Wallace

Lap 56 -- Several cars in jeopardy of missing the Daytona 500, including Vickers and Said, pit under caution. That leaves Wallace and Nemechek with the transfer spots.

Lap 55 -- Sadler blows a right front tire and slaps the wall, bringing out the second caution.

Lap 54 -- Johnson heads to pit road with a flat tire as Wallace marches into the top 5.

Lap 51 -- Earnhardt passes two cars without drafting help to take the lead as the field begins stacking up.

Lap 48 -- The battle for the transfer spot into the 500 is heating up. Half a dozen cars are fighting for the two spots available.

Lap 45 -- Newman hangs the Hendrick cars out of the draft and takes the lead. Marlin sneaks past Said to get the second transfer spot.

Lap 40 -- Top 5: Johnson-Earnhardt-Newman-Montoya-Sorenson
Transfer spots: Kenny Wallace and Vickers

Lap 37 -- Scott Riggs and Jeremy Mayfield pit to complete the pitting cycle.

Lap 35 -- The entire lead pack pits and Ryan Newman leads off of pit road.

Lap 34 -- Edwards, Sorenson and Juan Montoya come down pit road for four tires each. Sterling Marlin pits for just two tires.

Lap 31 -- Sam Hornish and Boris Said hit pit road for routine service.

Lap 30 -- Vickers comes to pit road with reported tire trouble. This will turn out to be a scheduled stop for him.

Lap 28 -- Earnhardt leads the top 10 cars on a single-file draft around the high side of the track.

Lap 25 -- Regan Smith heads down pit road by himself for routine service.

Lap 21 -- Newman sneaks underneath Earnhardt and takes the lead briefly, but Earnhardt battles back on the outside to take the lead back. Elliot Sadler heads to pit road with a flat tire.

Lap 18 -- Earnhardt shoots underneath Truex to take the lead with Newman in tow. Sorenson moves back up to third as Truex falls to fourth.

Lap 16 -- Truex uses drafting help from Earnhardt to overtake Edwards for the lead. Edwards falls through the field without any drafting help.

Lap 14 -- Carl Edwards makes a daring three-wide move to take the lead. Martin Truex follows him to second as Earnhardt moves to third.

Lap 11 -- Busch takes his car to the garage area. Reed Sorenson sneaks through the bottom groove to take the lead.

Lap 10 -- Busch falls off the pace and through the field with a blown engine as Newman and Nemechek battle neck-and-neck for the lead.

Restart Lap 6.

Lap 4 -- The leaders stay on the racetrack as a few cars near the rear of the field stop for fresh tires.
Top Five: Newman - Nemechek -  Busch - Said - Menard

Lap 3 -- Brian Vickers gets squeezed by Said off turn two and spins down the backstretch. Vickers keeps the car off the wall but brings out the first caution.

Lap 2 -- Nemechek leads while cars stack up two-by-two behind him.

2:18 -- The top 5 starters after the reset -- Ryan Newman, Joe Nemechek, Kenny Wallace, Boris Said, Kurt Busch.

2:11 -- The cars are on the track taking their pace laps for the first 60-lap Gatorade Duel. The top four qualifiers on the inside line -- Jimmie Johnson, Casey Mears, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and A.J. Allmendinger -- will drop to the rear of the field, giving Ryan Newman the pole.

The first Duel begins shortly after 2 p.m.
