This was a common scene in Nicaragua. The poor horses work every bit as hard as the Nicaraguans do. I thought I felt sorry for the horse, until I saw the same type of carts actually being pulled by a single individual. Not everyone who owns a cart owns a horse. I have always liked this image because it is so simple. Walking through the streets of Jinotepe, in the Carazo region of Nicaragua, it's as though time has stood still.
