North Marion High School might have lost against St. Augustine High School, 35-0, in the state semifinal Class 3A game, but only winners were on field.
There was great excitement and energy of the band, football players and the crowd at the semi final game. What I was found the most interesting is how the players handled themselves, even in defeat. All the players and coaches gathered in the middle of the field for a prayer at the end. From the location I was taking my photos I was not able to understand the words being said. Many teams would have only wished to have reached the state semifinals, but will never have the chance. It might be easier to win, but maybe more to learn in defeat.
