WORLD CONSUMERS READY TO END CLIMATE CRISIS
A global survey by GlobeScan and Program on International Policy Attitudes finds that 80 percent of people are willing to sacrifice something to help resolve global climate change.

Reuters says: “Millions of people around the world are willing to make personal sacrifices, including paying higher bills, to help redress climate change…the survey found 83 percent of those questioned believed lifestyle changes would be necessary to cut emissions of climate warming carbon gases.”

“’People around the world recognize that climate change requires that people change their behavior,’ said Steven Kull, director of the Program on International Policy Attitudes.”

BusinessGreen.com ) adds: “Doug Miller, president of GlobeScan, said that similar attitudes were increasingly evident in individuals' purchasing decisions.

“’There are clear parallels in their willingness to look for and respond to new green product offerings,’ he said. ‘All our recent research has revealed this rise in public concern and activism around climate change and that is impacting the market.’”

GET GREEN OR DIE
Buying green could literally save your life, according national security experts in a report titled "The Age of Consequences."

From Reuters   “Climate change could end globalization by 2040 as nations look inward to conserve scarce resources and conflicts flare when refugees flee rising seas and drought, national security experts warned on Monday.

"Scarcity could dictate the terms of international relations, according to Leon Fuerth of George Washington University, one of the report's authors. Global cooperation based on a resource-rich world could give way to a regime where vital commodities are scarce, Fuerth said."

FLORIDA GOV. CRIST TO ENGAGE CONGRESS
My favorite republican, Governor Charlie Crist is fighting the good fight again. He is going to talk to Congress about biofuel. First Willie Nelson made biofuel cool, now Charlie is trying to make it a reality.

Reuters reports: “Florida Gov. Charlie Crist said on Monday he will encourage U.S. Congress members to lobby for more ethanol use and a reduction in the 54-cent-a-gallon tariff on Brazilian imports of the biofuel.

“The use of more cane-based ethanol is seen as a way to curb greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S. state, which is aiming to reduce them to 1990 levels by 2015.

“’My style is to encourage (ethanol imports) and I have great friends in the Florida delegation in Washington, senator Mel Martinez, also senator Bill Nelson...I will encourage them to do exactly that,’ Crist told Brazilian and U.S. businessmen.”

Here’s a cool site I found that is really informative called “The Week in Green” , where they answer a lot of pressing questions pertaining to environmentalism and business. For example:
*Can junk mail ever be green?
*Why on earth is IBM quite so interested in solar panels?

newsflash - what grain makes up the majority of food additives? CORN! what happens when speculation on commodities takes off and the price of corn goes up? Food prices go up. if you think $4/gal gasoline will pinch wallets, wait until you have to pay $6 for a gallon of milk - it's coming.
