Good Morning Ocala. Yes it will be morning when most of you read this and hopefully you enjoyed that extra hour of sleep that you received last night when you turned your clocks back an hour. Oh, you forgot so you are early for wherever it is you went today. Oh well. Maybe next year.

The Men’s 600 Club held their re-scheduled Annual Meeting on October 26, 2007, and had a quorum in order to conduct business. The new officers are:

Burt Waite President

Jim Fritz 1st Vice President

Jack Neal 2nd Vice President

Ken Dengler Sergeant-At-Arms

Tom Delapenta Secretary/Treasurer

Vito DiBlasi Director - AMF West

Walt Dougherty Director - AMF East

Tim Stafford Director - AMF Ocala

The next tournament being hosted by the club will be on Saturday, December 8, 2007, at AMF Ocala which is their annual 9 Pin No-Tap Invitational. There is a luncheon that you may purchase a ticket for from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the tournament competition will begin at 1:30 p.m. The club members invite a female guest to bowl with them even though it is a "singles" tournament. The club has two (2) average divisions up to 184 and 195 and higher. Entry forms will be out shortly. "Thanks" to Les Muncaster for the years he served as President and to Marty Martinez for his tenure as secretary/treasurer.

The Women’s State 600 Club Tournament was held on October 21-22, 2007, at Jupiter Lanes in Jupiter, Florida. Only 4 women from Ocala participated and unfortunately their scores did not warrant reporting and they did not bring home any money. One of the participants did win a raffle and received a "bowling" plate with a bowling pin and ball cookie cutter. Maybe there will be cookies in the future.

I have heard that the results of the Women’s State 500 Club Tournament but I do not have any results. As soon as they are received they will be reported.

Girls High School Bowling at the local level is complete. Forest High School took top honors at the County level and competed in Districts and will move on to State Competition. Laura Leeson holds the high average for the County with a 177. Good luck to all the bowlers in the next level of competition.

The Mixed City Tournament has completed three (3) days of competition and has one (1) day to go - that being Sunday, November 4, 2007. Re-entries, late entries are accepted up to 30 minutes before squad time. One last chance tomorrow to try and knock the leaders off the board. Unofficially in first place for doubles are Heather and Scott Smith with a 1,459 and in first place for team is B & D Laundry comprised of Deby Bakos, William Bakos, Heather Smith and Scott Smith with a 2,765. Next week we will report the "unofficial" first through paying.

Not much else on the home front this week. Till later................
