Follow all of tonight's Marion County high school football action right here.
HURRICANES WIN! Lake Weir beats Forest 33-24
Welcome to Week 9 of high school football in Marion County. The Sports Blog is once again your source for updates throughout the evening. And as the playoffs near, the games keep getting better.
We've got seven games to follow tonight, including four county schools at home. If you're in front of a TV instead of a football field, Forest at Lake Weir is on the Marion County Education Channel.
To get you started, read Byron Saucer's preview capsules and story on Dunnellon's opportunity to lock up a playoff berth.
And if you missed a busy Thursday night in Marion County sports, Vanguard football took a loss at Gainesville Eastside, and Belleview and Trinity Catholic won district volleyball titles.

@ LAKE WEIR 33
TD UPDATE: Forest's Charles Ambrose from 19 yards out for the game's first score. XP gives the Wildcats a 7-0 edge with under four minutes.
TD UPDATE: Larry Green grabs a TD to put the Wildcats up 14-0 early in the 2nd quarter.
TD UPDATE: Jamal Thomas runs it in from six to put the Canes on the board. 14-7.
TD UPDATE: Mike Tanner puts in for a 21-7 'Cats lead.
TD UPDATE: Jamal Thomas is a bad, bad dude. He just broke about a million tackles on his way to his second rushing TD in as many carries. He's up to 109 yards and 2 scores, and the 'Canes are within a score, 21-14.
HALFTIME: Forest pads the lead with a FG just before break, and the 'Cats lead 24-14.
TD UPDATE: After a Thomas-to-Davis TD bomb is cancelled by Davis stepping out of bounds, Eddie Williams converts a fourth-and-goal to cash in the score. Forest leads 24-21.
TD UPDATE: 'Canes lead! 'Canes lead! Thomas runs in another one from 43 yards out. XP no good, Lake Weir 27-24.
UPDATE: Forest turns the ball over on downs, and Lake Weir's on the verge of a big-deal win. They're running down the clock inside the Forest 20.
UPDATE: Lake Weir's running up the score on Forest. Williams rushes in from 5 yards out to ice one of the biggest wins in Lake Weir history. 33-24 Hurricanes.
WEST PORT 23
@ DUNNELLON 17 F
1ST Q: Wolf Pack's playoff hopes are fading fast. Dunnellon scores twice in the first 12 minutes, leads 14-0.
FG UPDATE: West Port keeps hope alive with a 3-pointer. 14-3 Dunnellon.
HALFTIME: 17-3 Dunnellon
3RD Q: Wolf Pack are within a point entering the final 12 minutes. Dunnellon 17-16.
UPDATE: West Port's up 23-17 with one minute to play. Dunnellon's got the ball and driving.
FINAL: Wolf Pack holds on for the upset victory. West Port 23, Dunnellon 17.
PLAYOFFS?: If North Marion beats Dunnellon next week, there will be a 3-way tie for district runner-up between Williston, West Port and Dunnellon.
LEESBURG 26
@ BELLEVIEW 12 F
1ST Q: Scoreless after one.
HALFTIME: Leesburg 13, Belleview 0 at the half.
FINAL: Belleview takes the loss. 26-12, Leesburg. Belleview's eliminated from playoff contention.
TRINITY CATHOLIC 20
@ NEWBERRY 23 F
TD UPDATE: Newberry's Antwan Ivey breaks three tackles and runs 39 yards for a score on the game's second play from scrimmage. 7-0, Newberry
1ST Q: Newberry 7, Trinity 0. Pure domination for the Panthers: Celtics have just 16 total yards; Newberry held ball 10 of 12 minutes; Ivey has 70 yards on just 8 carries.
TD UPDATE: Celtics tie the score. TC D gets a stop on 4th & goal at the 3, then the O drives 99 yards for a touch. Derrick Dempsey finishes it off with a 6-yard run, and it's 7-7 with 5:19 to play before half.
HALFTIME: Still 7-7 at the break. A late Trinity drive ended with an INT.
FG UPDATE: Frankie Velez puts the Celtics on top with a 34-yard kick. Trinity 10-7 with 8:26 to play in the third.
TD UPDATE: Celtics make it a two-score margin. Rob Henry finds Khiry McDonald for a 41-yard pass, putting Trinity up 17-7 with 2:29 to play in the third. Dempsey passes 100 yards rushing as the Celtics take over in the trenches.
TD UPDATE: Newberry tightens it up as Ivey runs in for his second TD of the game. 17-14 Celtics.
FG UPDATE: Newberry's Phil Warner hits a 26-yard field goal to tie the game with four minutes to play. 17-17.
UPDATE: Free football in Newberry. The Panthers fumble in the red zone in the final minute, and we're going to overtime at 17-all.
OT UPDATE: Trinity and Newberry exchange field goals, and we're headed to another overtime at 20 apiece.
FINAL: Trinity takes the heartbreaking loss. Warner hits a 20-yarder for Newberry in the second OT for a 23-20 Panthers win.

FINAL: Colts win.
