Washington Del Castillo, of Ocala and originally from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, wears a traditional costume with a large sombrero, meaning hat in Spanish, featuring a large brim to provide shade.
The Ocala Hispanic Festival was held at McPherson Government Complex, Southeast 25th Avenue, Ocala.
Event organizer Fausto Pazmin, of Ocala, and originally from Cali Colombia, estimated about 2,000 people attended the event. The event featured 16 flags from Spanish speaking countries, with a procession complete with national anthems. The Star Spangled Banner was the first of the national anthems played, followed by the other participating countries, Saturday afternoon, Oct. 20, 2007, Ocala, Fla.
