The Yo Yo carnival rides into the sky just moments after the opening of the 2007 Blessed Trinity School Carnival, Thursday afternoon, Oct. 18, 2007.  The event started at 5pm with a countdown on the loud speaker to announce the opening of the four-day event, continuing Friday, 5pm to 11pm, Saturday, 11am to 11pm and Sunday Oct. 21, 11am to 9 pm.

The event is to raise money for Blessed Trinity School, located at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 5 Southeast 17th Street, Ocala.  Rev. Patrick J. Sheedy, parish pastor, estimated about 10,000 people or more might attend the event of food, fun and festivities. The money will benefit the private Catholic school’s supplies, technology and other educational needs for students.

I have always been fascinated by this simple swing ride at festivals, photographing many through the years.  Flying in a swing will not take you to the moon, but will lift your spirits for the day!
