Hello Ocala Bowlers. WOW we have our own blog on the world wide web. We have certainly moved up in the bowling world. This is the site where I will post information about upcoming local, state and national events. I will post reminders of deadlines for tournaments. I will post results from tournaments, leagues, and other bowling news that needs to be shared with Ocala and the world.

I would like to thank the Ocala Star Banner for their assistance in making this site possible. With this new blog I can include much more information that might otherwise have been cut out due to space availability.

The first reminder will be of the upcoming League Officer Workshop set for Saturday, April 11, 2007, at 9:30 a.m. at AMF East in the conference room. USBC has instituted changes to the league rules and other areas of bowling so it is important that the league officers attend this informative meeting. This is the place to ask your questions and receive assistance in making the bowling experience for your league bowlers a good one. It is important for secretaries and secretary/treasurers to attend as USBC has given the local associations a little more authority in overseeing that the league officers follow the USBC Rules and consequences should they fail to do so. For more information regarding these issues please make plans to attend the League Officers Workshop.

Fall leagues will be forming soon at the various centers so be sure to stop by and check out what type of leagues are available and if you don't see a format that you think you would like to see offered, please leave your suggestion with the center manager or contact someone on your local association board and discuss your ideas with them. Bowling is ever changing and most bowlers are open to new ways of competing at the same old game, so share your thoughts with other bowlers. I will update this site weekly unless there is a tournament or some other event that warrants updating immediately.

Guess that is enough for now - please remember this will be the place to look for news, results and whatever about bowling. Please feel free to leave information that you would like to share in any of the Ocala USBC Women's Bowling Association boxes at any of the centers and it will get to me in a timely manner. Again, Thanks to the Ocala Star Banner for this opportunity.

For people looking to take their game to another level, you should go see Mike Stiles at the AMF west pro shop. He is an awesome teacher, I have been bowling for a little less then 10 months now and I currently hold a 190 average. I owe it all to him, tell him Alan sent you.

Mr. Ficarra - Thanks for the Kudos to Mike. He is good at what he does and enjoys what he does which makes a difference in how he projects the sport of bowling. Again thanks for reading our blog and commenting.

John - Thanks for the update. Bobbi Jo, from what I have learned, will be an assistant manager at AMF Ocala, under Brian Yawn. Josh (last name unknown) is now at AMF East. Change is the only constant with AMF.

I understand that Bobbi Jo elected to leave AMF employment. Not sure who will be where. As we get "correct" information we will post here.

Thanks

I was just fired from amf--why?for trying to accommadate a customer which is no longer a priority for the managers there--amf galaxy east--I was not accused of stealing but connotation seemed the same--tried to get a number for Jesse Smith(district manager) FROM Vince (manager told me he didn't have the number? I alerted them to snack bar guy that admitted spitting on food and 1 1/2 weeks later they took action--
Jesse said " I leave thaT to the managers--BJ said .," do people really do that?Vince said, well I have to ask him-he admitted such,,,Hello, just fire the man!!

Hello, the man was spitting in food and had a week to continue such--my customers!! Jesse was afraid I tried to short him 5.00 but he allowed
this to continue for a week----Ihaven't eaten out since

Linda: Sorry to hear of the incident. I will see what I can find out about all the incidents and will post my findings here. Again, sorry. This does not help the image that AMF has in Ocala and will add to the many reasons people do not eat at the snack bar.
