where some of the world's only known freshwater sharks live around the
pristine island of Ometepe in Nicaragua. On this hike I saw two volcanoes,

Peanut Harvest By Bruce Ackerman
By photoblog on 9/19/2008 3:59 PM

Richard Barber pulls up a handful of peanuts as he looks over his crop during harvesting at his farm west of Ocala, Fla. on Thursday, Sept. 18, 2008. Barber, 70, is one of the few remaining large farmers in Marion County. Nationally, the average age of farmers has risen to 59, which shows that fewer young farmers are going into the business. Barber, however, says that he enjoys the peanut farming business. He has been producing crops for the past 42 years in Marion County. "To me this is fun, it's not like really working," he said. Smoke Light by Erica Brough
By photoblog on 9/9/2008 12:48 PM

I took a bunch of these pictures playing with the smoke in the light. I set the camera exposure
to measure the bright light coming in through the door's window, therefore blacking out everything
else in the room that wasn't as bright. I just think the lens flare and and the rim light on my subject
is really interesting to look at.
