The Rev. Jim Bullock, pastor of the Fort King Presbyterian Church, in Ocala, is retiring after 40 years of ministry and 18 years of service at his present church. A red banner hangs from the ceiling from the recent celebration of Pentecost, Tuesday morning, May 27, 2008, Ocala, Fla.

What would a photographer a photographer do while on vacation with family? Take more photos? Yes! I used the small camera that is located on my laptop computer to make this photo with 2 of my 6 nieces and nephews living in Wisconsin. Do you think we look alike? I am in the center!

Jose David Flores Ponce, 8, carries a covered bucket of corn tortilla dough he brought to a neighbor's molino, or mill, in a homemade wheelbarrow in Dolores, Nicaragua. His mother will sell the tortillas on the street. Only one of David's four siblings attends school. The rest spend the day helping with chores and playing with their friends on the dirt roads near their home.

This is musician Kenny Johnson jamming on his saxophone at Club Absolute in Ocala several months ago. The photo was made by using a strobe and a slow shutter speed. I had a lot of fun shooting him and his band in the low neon lights.

This horse is all dressed up for a wedding I shot a while ago. Although the bride was quite beautiful, I was drawn to the horse's beauty most of all. The bride and groom had a country wedding with each of them on horseback for the ceremony.

Ahhhhhhhh... how inviting! This is a little Texas secret called Krause Springs. Yes, this is Texas, about 45 minutes west of Austin. My girlfriends and I visited this private property for just $2 each and we basically had the place to ourselves. There were a couple of waterfalls, a rope swing, a garden and tons of butterflies. And the owners, an older couple, were really sweet.

Ok, if you thought that maybe I had finally gone off my rocker and posted pictures of myself naked, sorry.
Last weekend I did feel naked though. Canon Professional Services send me one of the most anticipated HD video cameras in a while to try out for four days only. The Canon VIXVIA HF-10 is a tiny consumer level flash memory HD video camera that can record 2 hours of full HD video to it's built in memory. I didn't mean for this to be a technical blog entry so if you have an interest, you can read my full review and see images and movies from it here . http://starbannerphoto/hf10 &a ...

In March 2008 I had to get new eyeglasses, as my old pair could not be repaired. I was not sure if I really liked my new glasses, so I took my own photo using a small camera located on my laptop computer. I find the technology truly amazing! I still don’t know if I like the new glasses, but like the technology.

I attended the Victims’ Remembrance Ceremony on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Marion County Judicial Center in the jury assembly room for the family and friends that have lost ones and are victims of crimes. More than 200 names were read out loud of the names and placed on a wreath. It was a very emotional time for participants, with many crying and weeping during the ceremony. Read more about this story.

CHEAP GAS!! By Bruce Ackerman |

Check this out!!
So, what are you paying for gas these days?...$3.45 to $3.50 a gallon?
Some say we'll be paying around $4 a gallon late this summer.
Well, I'm just as frustrated as you are... but I found a place where the gas is still really cheap.
It's in an old orange grove in Lake Weir, Florida at a place called Phillips Lake Weir Citrus.
This is on County Road 25 - on the left, about 5 miles or so up on the left after you come
out of Ocklawaha. Too bad they weren't open so I could tank up! Oh well.

Que bonita! Such a beautiful beach right in the heart of San Juan, Puerto Rico. I only saw one person, a surfer, using this beach. I walked several miles on the sidewalk along the coast leading to the historic capital, and the view was magnificent the whole way.

This is a view from the top of the mountains in El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico looking toward the east side of the island. Only a few miles from the main highway is this tropical paradise filled with colorful birds, butterflies, flowers, hiking trails, and waterfalls - a free delight.

I was quite tempted to join this little boy splashing in the courtyard fountain at the Grumbles House, a 100-year-old house in Dunnellon, Fla. The sun was hot, but he had the solution. If only we all stayed young...

I wanted a photo of a group I play my flute with called La Tuna Trinidad de Blessed Trinity, but really needed help to take the photo on Sunday afternoon, March 30, 2008 at Catholic Center Our Lady of Guadalupe, located in rural State Road 40, Ocala. I looked for the first person that looked like they were capable of pushing the button and getting all my friends in the photo, including their heads! Freddie Feliciano, of Ocala, was standing next to the arch, so he was perfect! Feliciano was busy taking photos of me as I was organizing the photos. I am the one with the red hair, of course!
