Lineman Competition by Erica Brough
By photoblog on 3/26/2008 4:19 PM

This is a shot from the Annual Florida Lineman's Competition in Ocala a few years ago (2004). The event gives electric linemen from all over Florida the chance to compete and showcase their skills. The shown event simulates an emergency procedure in which a lineman must climb a 40-foot power pole to aid an injured line-worker in the form of a 180-pound mannequin.

Easter Bunny Busted-Bruce Ackerman
By photoblog on 3/19/2008 10:55 AM

THE EASTER BUNNY EMERGES FROM BEHIND THE CRIME SCENE TAPE....BUSTED! HE DID IT!! I think police have their prime suspect now.

In reality, what is happening here is that "Mr. Bunny" is waving to children before an Easter Egg Hunt at Liberty Community Park in Ocala, Florida. The caution tape was set up to guide children and their parents into a wooded area where the Easter eggs were hidden. You see a lot of things as a photojournalist, some of them are not all that pleasant, but this one is definitely one of the lighter moments. - - Hope he makes bail before Easter!

Foggy View by Erica Brough
By photoblog on 3/7/2008 5:47 PM

This is the view from the cabin I stayed in while in West Virginia a few days ago on my snowboarding trip. The shown mountain was covered in a thin layer of snow, however, a full day of raining and flooding melted it all, blanketing the entire scene in a hazy fog.

Stone Mountain Lake by Erica Brough
By photoblog on 2/28/2008 4:52 PM

Every fall my family and I camp along this lake at Stone Mountain Park in Georgia. We go to see the leaves change colors, climb the mighty "stone," watch the patriotic laser show, ride the hay-filled scenic train, play Frisbee on the green lawn facing the mountain's gigantic carving of  the confederate memorial and roast marshmallows around the fire. The air is always crisp, cool and breezy. Music from the grand Carillon Bells rings throughout the park. Crew teams row through the foggy waters chanting rhythmically. I look forward to visiting the park every year to photograph its beauty and be with my ever-growing family.
